Residential Window Tinting

Reduce Heat & Glare

Solar Window Films can reduce up to 81% of the Total Solar Energy from the sun, 93% Visible Light (Glare), and 99% of Ultra Violet. All three reductions can also reduce Fading by up to 84%. Standard Solar Films provide privacy and can provide protection if the glass is broken. It is recommended that if Safety or Security is a key issue that Armorcoat and Armorgard films are considered as these can help achieve the requirements of AS/NZS 2208:1996 and AS 1288 – 2006. These films are available in tinted and clear options.

Reduce Heat Gain & Heat Loss

Heat in properties is created by the sun emitting short infrared wavelengths and hitting objects inside, which create a radiant heat from each object called ‘radiant heat gain’. The larger the expanse of windows, the greater the opportunity for excessive heat gain. Solar film provides significant reductions for homes, by reducing the

amount of infrared that can enter through the windows. Film also reduces the Visible Light (Glare) and Ultra Violet (UV) that are produced by the sun’s radiant energy. Windows can also contribute to heat loss in the winter. Unique technology has now enabled us to offer products that reduce the heat generated inside a property being lost through windows.

Why consider Window Tinting?

Heat Gain & Heat Loss

Airconditioning and heating costs can be reduced significantly using summer / winter film solutions. We provide advice on the right film that will reduce heat whist still allowing light to enter the room.

“Cold Spots” can be managed by considering Ecolux 70 that provide benefits for the rejection of heat in the summer, and the retention of heat in the winter.

Many residences experience problems with glare and this is not just a summer problem. If you have trouble seeing your television, have an office at home where you use a computer, or just feel

uncomfortable when entering a room, we can reduce glare by up to 93%.

U.V Fading

UV is a significant contributor to the fading of furniture and floorboards. Whilst other factors can contribute (eg indoor lighting, humidity / moisture, dye fastness in fabric etc), it is recognised that approximately 40% is due to UV radiation. Window films stop 99% of this harmful UV at the window, and can reduce up to 84% of the

Fading due to the UV radiation, infra-red and visible light.

If you have windows where you like to sit or work and would like privacy from neighbours or passers-by, there is a range of window films that can provide daytime privacy.

There are films that target the residential market, and do not need to provide a reflective appearance.

Reduce Costs – Improve the efficiency of your air conditioner

Removing excessive heat gain from your windows can reduce your electricity costs through the amount of time you need to operate your Airconditioning system. It is estimated that window film can provide a return within 3 years through reduced energy consumption. This is officially recognised through the Window Energy Rating Scheme (WERS) which is designed to contribute to an improvement in a home or commercial property with a star rating similar to home appliances.

lessen accidential injuries & stop theives

Glass can inflict injuries once broken, whether through the impact of someone hitting the windows, an object penetrating the window, or natural disasters. Fitting a Safety and Security films prevent glass ‘shards’ from causing injury by holding the glass in place. Our Safety films comply with Australian Standards AS/NZS 2208:1996 ‘Safety Glazing Materials in Buildings’ and AS 1288-1994 ‘Glass in Buildings’.
